Idaho Handbook - Coming soon
Idaho’s population has grown by roughly 23% since 2010; this rapid growth has been caused by people falling in love with our State’s culture. They love it here. But as more people move to Idaho, our culture becomes diluted and its integrity is at risk. New residents bring a unique set of attitudes, behaviors, and customs with them, and they don't often adapt to the existing culture.
By 2035, we want to see 1.5 million Idahoans actively invested in preserving Idaho’s culture. We created the Idaho Culture Handbook, coming in 2026, to help residents understand the unique spirit and values that make Idaho special and how they can embody them in everyday life. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’re working on.
Idaho’s Strength Is in Its People
Beyond the stunning landscapes, Idaho’s true identity lives in its people. Idahoans are defined by grit, resourcefulness, adventure, authenticity, and helpfulness. These values guide everyday life—from the backcountry to the boardroom—and shape what it means to be a good neighbor and a great resident.
Being a Good Idahoan
Being a good Idahoan means more than just having an Idaho address—it’s about living with intention and integrity. It means showing up for your community, lending a hand when a neighbor needs help, and treating others with respect, even when you disagree. It’s about valuing our shared spaces, honoring the land, and upholding a way of life rooted in kindness, accountability, and mutual support. Whether you’re new to the state or born and raised here, living by these values helps preserve the spirit of Idaho.
